Evolutionists vs. Creationists

2008-05-23

There is a raging battle today between evolutionists, who believe in Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, and creationists, who interpret the creation story in Genesis literally. Personally, I think this battle is a waste of time and energy that could be put to use for real science, such as the science of God, that is, theology. As usually, both extremes are wrong, and it is the middle ground that should be taken. Sadly, the theory of evolution has been falsely taught as scientific fact in schools, to which the creationists have retaliated by fighting for their theory to be taught as scientific fact in schools. Both theories shouldn't be taught as scientific fact but as theories, and ones that don't have much merit at that.

One thing we know for sure is that God created everything. Since evolutionism and creationism don't have any science to back them, we know that God didn't use either of them. However, I'm not putting any limitation on God. If He wanted to use either one of these theories, He could have. Nonetheless, in the created world, God made logical sense of what He created, and since evolutionism and creationism don't make any logical sense, we are pretty sure that both are wrong.

I've often said that if the theory of evolution were true, it would prove the existence of God because it would take divine intervention to make it work. There are no scientific facts whatsoever to suggest that the theory of evolution is correct. We must not confuse evolution with adaptation. Species adapt. There is evidence of this even within the last century. It could be taken so far as to suggest that all aquatic mammals were as one time land animals, and conversely, it could be taken that all land mammals, including man, were at one time aquatic animals. This is unlikely, but not impossible.

Species, however, do not evolve into other species. This is the crux of the theory of evolution, and the main reason why it fails. Seals may have at one time lived entirely on land like dogs; however, they could not have evolved into dogs or the other way around. Seals have always been seals, and dogs have always been dogs.

The main fault of the theory of evolution, though, is theological. Man has always been man because he has a soul. There was no point that he was something else and then was suddenly given a soul to become man. This is the only heretical fault with the theory of evolution.

Creationism is the other extreme, which I am embarrassed about because I believe that God created everything; however, I do not believe He did it the way creationist say He did. First, they ignore science. They believe that the universe is less than 10,000 year old and that Satan put the dinosaur bones in the earth to lead us away from God. This simply makes Christianity look foolish.

It was not until the fourth day of the creation account in Genesis that any chronological measurement existed; therefore, the first three days could have been billions and billions of years. As well, we don't know how long Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden before they were expelled. This too could have been billions and billions of years.

Evolutionists are wrong, and Creationists are wrong. All we know is that God created everything. How He created everything will not be revealed to use until we are with him in heaven; however, we will be filled with such joy then that I doubt we will really care.

This is an upcoming feature film in which host Ben Stein (Ferris Bueller's Day Off) goes on a quest to expose the suppression by science's anti-theist elite, and unveil new scientific facts that may suggest evidence of intelligent design in the universe.
