Tattoo Taboos

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

I just found this article on the National Catholic Register. I remember doing the interview, but I was never informed that it was published. I’m four years late finding out about it, but I guess it’s better late than never.

Catholics Debate the Morality of Body Art

Attacked by Tolerance

Sunday, May 6th, 2012

In my last post, I mentioned the intolerance of the persons that are trying to convince everyone that homosexual inclinations are normal and not disordered. This video shows some actual evidence of this intolerance. The article that goes along with this video can be found at The American TFP.

Schizophobia

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

I have been planning on writing this blog post since December of 2009. I will explain what prompted me almost two and a half years ago to think of writing this post in a moment, but first, let me explain why I haven’t written it until now.

You see, I’m sick. I’m so sick that I haven’t been able to work for over thirteen years. During this time, I’ve gone through periods where I’ve been able to write a great deal, and times where I can’t even keep on top of my e-mail. The last two years have been somewhere in the middle, so I haven’t really written too much, and it has not been until now that I’ve been able to write this.

I Don’t Like Video Games

Monday, April 30th, 2012

I’ve never been really big on video games. I haven’t played very many video games, but I do admit that the video games I did play were a lot of fun. However, after playing them, I never felt that they added any value to my life. What I never understood was how anyone could keep plugging coins into those machines durning lunch hour when you could stand and watch the cool graphics for free while other people play (and pay).

World Down Syndrome Day

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

I’m a day late for this one, but it’s better late than never. Yesterday, March 21, 2012, was World Down Syndrome Day.

This is a special issue for me. Persons with Down Syndrome are an important source of inspiration for me. All my life I’ve too easily gotten caught up in measuring my worth by what I’ve accomplished and what others think of me. I’ve improved a great deal in this area over the last few years, and that improvement has been in a large part due to persons with Down Syndrome. These persons know their worth and they don’t feel the need to prove that worth to anyone. They inspire me to be the best person I can be, not because they are less than me, but because they are more than me. I am become more when I follow their example.

We are all of infinite worth to God.

Hooked

Sunday, March 18th, 2012

When the Obama administration made the decision not to exempt Catholic hospitals and universities from the mandate to provide insured employees with contraceptives, morning after pills, and sterilization without a co-pay, one of those consulted was Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood.  Richards obviously has a special interest in having contraception covered, since dispensing contraception is a major part of their business model. It may be ‘free’ to the woman, but Planned Parenthood will be paid for providing the service.

Nude Photography

Thursday, March 8th, 2012

If you’ve been following my writing for a number of years, you may recall that around four years ago I was investigating the possibility of authentic nude art in photography. I was actually planning to write a book about my findings. I didn’t write that book for a couple of reasons. First, I realized I don’t know enough about art to write such a book. Secondly, there were a number of other projects that I was qualified to work on, so I decided to work on them. I was, however, still planning on writing a blog post about the conclusions I drew from my investigation of nude photography. It’s been almost four years now, and I’ve finally getting around to writing that blog post. Actually, it was the e-mail below that prompted me to write this.

Lisa Graas & Rick Santorum

Monday, December 19th, 2011

I’m a Canadian and most of my readers are Canadian; however, I do have some readers around the world, most notably in the United States of America. For these readers I’m going to give my opinion about who I think should be your next president. Not that my opinion means too much, but people often ask me my opinion on different things, such as what Bible translation to read.

Wash Your Hands

Friday, October 14th, 2011

I’m beginning to wash my hands more often. It’s a good thing to do. However, a couple of days ago, I realized that I haven’t been washing my hands long enough. I’ve been told that you should sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in your head as you wash your hands to time yourself.
