Tattoo Taboos

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

I just found this article on the National Catholic Register. I remember doing the interview, but I was never informed that it was published. I’m four years late finding out about it, but I guess it’s better late than never.

Catholics Debate the Morality of Body Art

Attacked by Tolerance

Sunday, May 6th, 2012

In my last post, I mentioned the intolerance of the persons that are trying to convince everyone that homosexual inclinations are normal and not disordered. This video shows some actual evidence of this intolerance. The article that goes along with this video can be found at The American TFP.

Schizophobia

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

I have been planning on writing this blog post since December of 2009. I will explain what prompted me almost two and a half years ago to think of writing this post in a moment, but first, let me explain why I haven’t written it until now.

You see, I’m sick. I’m so sick that I haven’t been able to work for over thirteen years. During this time, I’ve gone through periods where I’ve been able to write a great deal, and times where I can’t even keep on top of my e-mail. The last two years have been somewhere in the middle, so I haven’t really written too much, and it has not been until now that I’ve been able to write this.

The rupture between sexuality and marriage

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

A week ago, I said, “There are at least some priests in Ireland that hold to the orthodox catholic Faith. I personally know one of them, who I hold in very high regard, and I’m sure he’s not alone.” Well, that one priest e-mailed me a related text extracted from The Ratzinger Report (1985). I strongly encourage everyone to read it.

The rupture between sexuality and marriage
Reflections on unnatural liberation

By Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger

The issue is the rupture between sexuality and marriage. Separated from motherhood, sex has remained without locus and has lost its point of reference: it is a kind of drifting mine, a problem and at the same time an omnipresent power.

I am Disturbed by the Views of the ACP

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

On April 5th, The Irish Catholic ran this story under the headline, Fr Flannery under Vatican investigation:

Founder of the Association of Catholic Priests (ACP) Fr Tony Flannery is under Vatican investigation for some of his liberal views, The Irish Catholic has learned.

[...]

It comes just two weeks after the report of the Apostolic Visitation noted what it described as “fairly widespread” dissent among priests, religious and laypeople from the teaching of the Church.

Stocking the College with Conservatives

Monday, April 9th, 2012

Lisa Graas posted something a couple days ago that I almost commented on, but I was too embarrassed to express publicly how I really feel. After a couple days of thought, I’ve decided that I’m confident enough in my masculinity to express these feelings (or maybe my inhibitions are down because I can’t sleep and it’s past midnight). Lisa said “that [she] want[s] a Cardinal Dolan teddy bear that [she] can hug every time he does something awesome.” Well, I feel the same way about the Archbishop of Toronto, Thomas Cardinal Collins.

Socialist? Communist? Progressive? Liberal? Choice?

Monday, April 9th, 2012

Lisa Graas posted something on her blog that got me to thinking: There is a lot of evil in this world that is hiding behind seemingly good terms. I’m going to look at these terms and the definition given for them by the dictionary on my iMac.

Socialism: “a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.”
